You don’t need to drive 10 miles out of your way for a ridiculous gym membership in fancy new workout clothes in order to work out and be healthy. If that is indeed the case, and you need other motivating factors to work towards a healthy lifestyle, then you are not doing it for the right reasons. You might as well save the time and effort and give in to the inevitable… failure in sustaining a healthy physical lifestyle. You have to want to be healthy for you, to feel better physically as well as mentally. If that is indeed the case, then simply getting off your butt and being active will get you there.

On the other hand, if you are using one of those gym memberships as an excuse for socializing, save your money and time and just go socialize. Otherwise, go for a walk, jog or run. It’s free and you don’t need an overly expensive running machine with shocks and overly complicated gadgetry. Do sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, chin-ups, etc. Besides being free, you use less resources: money, gas, and electricity!
